Scottish Thistle Awards

The Scottish Thistle Awards were held last Friday, celebrating the best tourism businesses in Scotland and bringing a fitting end to Scottish Tourism Week.

The awards drew a record breaking number of entries this year

We were delighted to see our good friend and STA Council member Robin Worsnop, founder of Rabbie’s Tours presented with the prestigious Silver Thistle Award for his outstanding contribution to the Scottish tourism industry.

Tourism Minister, Fergus Ewing said;  “The Silver Thistle Award is the top honour in tourism and goes to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry. In building a multi-award winning tour business now rated as one of the top ten things to do in Edinburgh, Robin has inspired his peers and competitors along the way. Robin has been an active leader in helping the tourism industry raise its profile and is a worthy winner of the Silver Thistle.”

We would like to extend huge congratulations to James Rusk who scooped the Braehead Food Hospitality Hero Award (“awesome” James – we know how much you love that word!), Forest Holidays for Best Holiday Accommodation and Arnold Clark Car and Van Rental on winning the Edinburgh Airport Tourism is Everyone’s Business Award and big, big congratulations to all of Friday’s winners and finalists.
