FISHERS LAUNDRY LIGHTENS THE LOAD

FOR CHILDREN’S CHARITY

Fishers Laundry, Scotland’s leading commercial laundry is lightening the load for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) hospice staff by providing a full laundry service free of charge.

The laundry and textile rental business will provide Robin House in Balloch, Loch Lomond, with all of its guest room bed linen (sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases) and towels (bath towels and hand towels) and also launder these for them. Fishers already provide this service to CHAS’ other hospice, Rachel House, in Kinross.

On top of offering this regular service to the hospices, Fishers in partnership with Pegasus Textiles, designed and created a CHAS towel, and for every towel purchased a £5 donation is given to CHAS. Scott Inglis, Commercial Director of Fishers, visited Robin House in Balloch to present a cheque for £4,193.10 raised through sales of the towel.

Criona Knight, Corporate Fundraising Manager at CHAS, said:

“We are so grateful to Fishers for all of their support this year; they have gone out of their way to support CHAS in as many ways as they can. From providing a free laundry service to giving us luxury linens for family bedrooms, their support is invaluable.

“Yesterday the Fishers team arrived at Robin House to hand over £4,193.10, proceeds from a CHAS towel they had specially made. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Fishers, we are really looking forward to continuing our fantastic partnership.”

Scott Inglis, Commercial Director of Fishers, said:

“Visiting Robin House was a real eye opener. It is about so much more than respite, it is such an important place. I am a huge admirer, as is the whole team at Fishers, of CHAS’ work and we wanted to do something meaningful to support them and make a difference.

“Choosing CHAS as our corporate partner has not only motivated staff but has enabled us to strengthen our brand. We will match staff fundraising and we’ve worked with our suppliers to create a branded CHAS towel to raise money for the charity. Our partnership with CHAS is important to us and we hope we can make a difference.”

CHAS

Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is the only charity that provides hospice services in Scotland for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

We provide care through our two wonderful hospices – Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch – and also through CHAS at Home which has teams working from both hospices as well as dedicated teams in Aberdeen and Inverness, caring for families in their own homes when they need it most.

We support over 400 families, as well as a significant number of families who receive bereavement support. We generate support for our work through tireless, year-round fundraising to secure over £10 million needed every year to run our hospices and provide services to families.
