What the Autumn Statement means for Scottish tourism

We welcomed the Chancellor’s announcement yesterday that Scotland will receive an additional £800M boost over the next five years as part of an investment package – a pot which gives the Scottish Government even greater spending power to boost productivity and growth.

The STA wrote to Finance Minister, Derek Mackay earlier this month on behalf of the tourism industry, outlining our key asks for consideration in areas which with the right approach, support and investment from Scottish Government will make a lasting difference to Scotland’s tourism industry.  We have requested a meeting with Scottish Government to expand on these areas and we will of course keep you informed on future discussions.  The Scottish Government Draft Budget will be presented to Parliament on 15 December.
