A Seminar on Innovation in Tourism #TSSInnovation
Due to a diary clash, we have rescheduled this event from 22 March when it would have been part of Scottish Tourism Week 2017. We are pleased to honour our agreement whereby STA members can enjoy the same discounted ticket rates as Tourism Society members.
We will discuss the impacts of an increasingly competitive business environment where consumers have a huge range of travel options at their fingertips. How do tourism businesses keep their competitive edge and attract visitors?
Innovation is defined by businessdictionary.com as:
The process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that creates value or for which customers will pay.
In this seminar, we will hear from innovators and entrepreneurs who have done just that. Our panel of speakers will each give a short presentation before we enter into facilitated discussions in smaller groups, tackling the following questions:
What are the biggest challenges that tourism businesses face currently in order to keep their competitive edge?
Where can businesses, large and small, seek support when they wish to develop an innovative idea?
What advice do those who have innovated give to others?
Time for those who are currently developing an innovative idea to talk it over with the group, including panellists if they so wish.
Our distinguished panel of speakers includes:
• Alison Grieve, CEO/ Inventor at G-Hold
• Dr Fiona Hutchison from Interface
• James McVeigh, Head of Marketing & Innovation at Festivals Edinburgh
• Chris Palmer, Co-Founder of TravelHUB
Tourism Society & STA Members £25 | Non-Members £35 | Students £15
