Tourism Intelligence Scotland is an initiative which interprets market information in an interesting and stimulating way in order to help businesses develop and grow.

Tourism Intelligence Scotland (TIS) is now working closely with the Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA) to ensure their future guides, market intelligence, workshops and webinars illuminate the latest research in a way that is useful to tourism businesses. The next guide to be launched will be the eleventh in the Opportunities for Growth series – Events, Festivals and Cultural Tourism – which will be published shortly to highlight the prospects to be exploited throughout the “Winning Years”. All guides produced to date are available online and hard copies will be obtainable at the STA AGM where TIS will be represented.

Iain Limond, retiring chair of the TIS advisory group said “I am delighted that TIS is working closely in support of the STA. Reciprocal links are already in place to ensure that businesses are directed to TIS from the STA website in order to get access to the market intelligence needed.  TIS will highlight the latest STA opportunities and events through its extensive communication channels.”

Marc Crothall, CEO of the STA said, “As a leading body and voice of the industry in Scotland as well as being responsible for co-ordinating, facilitating and supporting industry to successfully deliver the Tourism Scotland 2020 goals and vision we will ensure that the industry needs and the opportunities identified in the new strategy are reflected in the resources developed by TIS.

We will gather the views and opinions of those in the front line and will  work closely with the TIS team to develop future tools and support materials to help industry a) better understand our customers which will in turn help operators develop and b) deliver the high “quality” value for money memorable visitor experiences.”
