UK Small Business Commissioner – Complaint scheme
The Enterprise Act 2016 introduced a UK-wide Small Business Commissioner to tackle the growing issue of late payment.
The role of the Commissioner is to address the contractual late payment issue faced by small businesses.
The Commissioner’s role includes:
• provide general information and advice
• direct small businesses to existing dispute resolution services
• handle complaints by small businesses about the payment practices of their larger customers to encourage a culture change in how companies deal with one another
Have your say:
The UK are consulting with businesses of all sizes on how the Commissioner will operate and handle complaints and the definition of a small business for the purposes of the Commissioner’s services.
