Scotland’s Next Tourism Strategy – Update December

Following the launch of the Draft National Tourism Strategy Beyond 2020 at the STA conference we have continued to share the draft at many events throughout the country and have been encouraging people to contribute their views through the online survey – we wanted to be able to give as many people as possible the opportunity to contribute.

We have attended and hosted 23 events in the last six weeks covering destinations conferences, sector conferences, community and social enterprises, events with undergraduate and postgraduate students and have another two events planned for January.  All in all, we have engaged c. 2,500 people through events including the STA Autumn Conference and we’ve managed to reach those who weren’t able to attend the events through the STA’s communications.

We would like to thank everyone for engaging with the online survey and sharing your thoughts on the draft strategy. The survey is now closed and we’re now in the process of consolidating and analysing the feedback.

The findings will help to refine the strategy further and importantly, as we move into the action planning phase, this output will help the partner organisations ensure Scotland will become the world leader in 21st century tourism.

The launch of the strategy and headline actions will take place on 4th March 2020 at the STA Signature Sessions 2020.  Please do book your Earlybird ticket as this is likely to be a sell-out event.  Click here to secure your ticket.
