Industry Update: Short-Term Let Licence Applications Guidance via the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC)
A reminder that if you are a short-term let operator in Scotland, it is a legal requirement to apply for a Short-Term Let Licence by the deadline of the 1st October 2023. This means submitting your application on or before 30th September 2023.
Failing to apply for a licence by the specified date will result in a suspension of operations until a licence is obtained.
Anyone who operated a short-term let before 1st October 2022 can still accept bookings and guests until an application is determined, but must apply before the 1st October 2023 deadline. Owners who started operations after 1st October 2022 cannot begin trading until they receive their licence.
The ASSC have created a number of supporting documents for members which can be accessed on their website here.
In the meantime, dawn until dusk, the ASSC is tirelessly committed to continuing the fight on behalf of Scotland’s Self-Catering Sector to ensure Proportionate, Justifiable and Targeted Regulation going forward.
