Caroline Warburton is VisitScotland’s Regional Leadership Director for the East of Scotland, where she oversees VisitScotland’s strategic engagement and partnerships for the East region, with direct responsibility for Fife, Perthshire, Dundee and Angus. Caroline is also a VisitScotland representative for a number of national issues, including outdoor tourism, towns and towns centres and responsible tourism.
Caroline joined VisitScotland in April 2018 from the Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA) where she was responsible for coordinating Scotland’s first industry-led national tourism strategy, Tourism Scotland 2020. She worked across the sector, supporting business events, events and festivals, destinations and sector groups, as well as issues around skills and data. Prior to the STA, Caroline spent 10 years establishing and running Wild Scotland, Scotland’s wildlife and adventure tourism association. The group brought the sector together for the first time and enabled the launch of the industry’s first responsible wildlife watching guidelines and establishing Scotland’s profile as a wildlife-watching and adventure destination.
Outwith this role, Caroline is Director of the Responsible Tourism Partnership and a judge for the World Responsible Tourism Awards.
