Hospitality’s worsening recruitment crisis – please be part of the solution!
The headlines over the last few days on the recruitment challenges faced by the hospitality and tourism sectors are beginning to hit home; there is no doubt that our industry is facing the biggest recruitment crisis of its time with many businesses now unable to open fully or to capacity due to lack of staff.
There are ways that your company can play a part in the solution to the crisis and benefit by helping to move people into jobs within the sector and your business; it is critical that we all do as much as we can to overcome what has become a major threat to our industry.
DWP in partnership with Springboard, Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Tourism Alliance and UK Hospitality will be delivering a 2-week campaign, #HospitalityScotland which will run for two weeks from Monday 7th June to Friday 18th June 2021.
Features of the campaign will include:
•Virtual information sessions for jobseekers to promote opportunities within the sector.
•Virtual information sessions for DWP Work Coaches to upskill their sector knowledge and availability of vacancies
•Online jobs fairs hosted on DWP Twitter accounts to highlight vacancies across Scotland and by local area.
•Promotion of Kickstart opportunities within the hospitality sector.
•Sharing good news stories and testimonials to promote hospitality as a career choice.
This is something we can all play a part in as we move into what we hope will be the busiest period for the sector in many months!
