Industry News: Glasgow’s Top Chefs Raise More Than £3,000 for Hospitality Health
More than £3,000 has been raised for Hospitality Health after four of Scotland’s leading chefs came together for a sold-out charity dinner at Elements in Bearsden, Glasgow on Thursday 25th July.
The one-night-only collaboration saw Conner Magee (Glaschu), Ajay Kumar (Swadish & Grilled), Gary Townsend (Elements) and Michelin-starred Graeme Cheevers (Loma & Unalome) create an exceptional menu celebrating seasonal Scottish produce, accompanied by a Billecart-Salmon Champagne reception and expertly selected wine pairings generously supported by l’Art du Vin.
Funds were raised through ticket sales, together with a charity raffle and auction, helping Hospitality Health continue its work supporting the wellbeing of people working across Scotland’s hospitality industry through support services, Mental Health First Aid training and access to practical support.
Gordon McIntyre MBE, Chairman of Hospitality Health, said: “The generosity shown by everyone involved in this event was truly overwhelming. Our sincere thanks go to Conner, Ajay, Gary and Graeme for giving their time and talent so generously, to the fantastic team at Elements for hosting such a memorable evening and to every guest who supported the event.
We are also incredibly grateful to l’Art du Vin for generously supporting the Champagne reception and wine pairings, Harvey & Brockless for providing the optional cheese course, and to everyone who donated raffle prizes and auction lots. Their generosity helped us maximise the funds raised for Hospitality Health.
Most importantly, the evening demonstrated the incredible strength and camaraderie that exists across Scotland’s hospitality industry. The money raised will help us continue supporting the people who dedicate their careers to looking after others, and for that we are enormously thankful.”
The event followed last year’s successful inaugural collaboration dinner at Glaschu and once again brought together chefs, suppliers, guests and supporters from across the hospitality sector in support of Hospitality Health.
Hospitality Health would also like to thank everyone who attended and the many businesses and individuals who donated prizes and support. The success of the event once again demonstrated the generosity of Scotland’s hospitality industry and its commitment to supporting colleagues across the sector.
More than £3,000 was raised on the night, with every contribution helping Hospitality Health continue its vital work supporting the wellbeing of hospitality professionals throughout Scotland.
