Industry Update: Landmark Scottish Historic House Secures Management Services from Vennersys
Mount Stuart House and Gardens on the Isle of Bute, Scotland, has chosen to work with attraction management solution provider, Vennersys, to help streamline and improve business processes, increase income, and better the visitor experience.
Located on the picturesque Isle of Bute, west of Glasgow, Mount Stuart House and Gardens is a must-see historic house boasting a unique blend of Georgian and Victorian architecture. Innovative throughout its history, Mount Stuart House was the first house in Scotland to be purpose built with electric lighting and claims to have the world’s first private indoor swimming pool heated pool.
Originally built in 1719 and later repaired in the late 19th century, the house is now open to the public, containing an 80ft high marble hall, marble chapel, gothic arches, and stained-glass windows. The stunning inside of the house was designed with the themes of astrology, mythology, and art in mind throughout.
Mount Stuart is set upon 300 acres of land showcasing its gardens with globally significant plant life and forest spaces. There are three gardens each with their own distinct theme and a pinetum, displaying trees from 13 different countries.
Although still the family seat of the Crichton-Stuarts, the Mount Stuart Trust have taken care of the house since 1995, maintaining it for the enjoyment of the public as a charitable venture.
By working with Vennersys, Mount Stuart hopes to use the VenposCloud system to fully integrate several different locations across the site to ensure fully updated data on tickets, sales, memberships, stock levels, and more. The historic house also hopes to use this data to produce comprehensive reports to help inform future business decisions.
Also, as a charity, it is crucial for Mount Stuart House and Gardens to maximise income and minimise expenditure, which is why the team have also elected to use the Gift Aid functionality to make the claiming process significantly easier.
Both parties are very excited by the partnership, with Louisa, Visitor Experience Manager at Mount Stuart House and Gardens commenting:
“The Vennersys system was the best choice for us in the next stage of our growth as it offered everything we wanted at Mount Stuart and more. Their team have been excellent throughout the onboarding and acquisition process, making sure we understand their product and helping us get the best out of it. I’m excited to see where our new partnership leads the trust.”
Stuart, Business Development Manager at Vennersys added:
“Mount Stuart is another prestigious entry into our list of historic house clients, which is an industry we have a lot of experience in. We’re thrilled to have them on board, not only because we have the expertise needed to help the stunning attraction flourish, but also because it strengthens our position in Scotland, where we are starting to build quite an impressive client base. I look forward to guiding Mount Stuart through the next stages of their growth plan and hope to work with them for years to come.”
