SUMMARY
The Coig is an exciting new tourism initiative for Ayrshire, the Clyde Coast and Clyde Islands. Our objective is to maximise visitor growth to an area with significant natural, cultural, sporting and activity-based opportunities by raising the profile of this amazing coastal and inland landscape through marketing and commercial activities.
This is an exciting time for an experienced business development and marketing professional to join The Coig and to take the lead in the developing and implementing business development and marketing plans which maximise business, stakeholder and visitor engagement. The post-holder will help to create a step change in tourism visibility, producing meaningful and sustainable economic and social benefits across the area by engaging with communities, businesses, and public sector agencies to create opportunities for collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working as part of a small, professional team you will be expected to:
▪ Lead on the development, implementation, and monitoring of business development and marketing plans to grow both Coig Ltd and the volume and value of tourism across the five routes of The Coig area.
▪ Develop and deliver B2B and B2C marketing campaigns across traditional and digital media, which inspire new and repeat visitors to The Coig routes and partner businesses, and grow revenues of Coig Ltd.
▪ Identify businesses who will benefit from membership of The Coig and recruit new partner businesses in line with our business plan targets.
▪ Develop strong relationships with partner businesses, fostering collaboration and partnership working, and ensuring that the businesses use their membership to its full potential.
▪ Identify opportunities for commercialisation, and develop products and services which provide added value to partners and businesses.
▪ Organise and facilitate press trips from key markets throughout the year, including traditional media and supporting digital influencers.
▪ Manage relationships with a range of partner organisations and agencies in relation to marketing and PR to ensure best results and coverage.
▪ Deliver regular consumer and corporate communications including eCRM creation and distribution, and content writing, to deliver key messages to internal and external audiences.
▪ Attend and represent The Coig at relevant networking events, exhibitions and other industry events.
▪ Engage with communities, businesses, and public sector agencies to create opportunities for all to collaborate and work together to produce meaningful and sustainable economic and social benefits.
▪ Prepare reports, funding applications, and presentation materials for internal and external audiences.
▪ Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job title, as may be determined by the CEO.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
▪ Educated to degree level in related field e.g. business or marketing, or equivalent qualifications and experience.
▪ Proven experience of developing and managing relationships with both customers and partners.
▪ First-hand experience across media and marketing channels including production of high-quality marketing materials.
▪ Commercial experience including marketing, selling and negotiation.
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including content creation.
▪ Experience of setting, controlling and meeting budgets and resources.
▪ Experience of development and delivery of marketing plans.
▪ Experience of membership recruitment and sales with a drive to achieve results and exceed targets
▪ Driving license and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
▪ Knowledge / experience of tourism or similar sectors(s).
▪ Experience of brand development.
▪ Experience in use of consumer and corporate PR.
▪ Knowledge of tourism in Ayrshire, the Clyde Coast and Clyde Islands
