Alex Borland
CREDIT STRATEGY, INSIGHT, AND INNOVATION - VIRGIN MONEY/NATIONWIDE GROUP
Alex Borland works in strategic credit risk at Virgin Money (Nationwide Group). Prior to this, he spent over 20 years with Royal Bank of Scotland / NatWest Group working in corporate and commercial banking, and strategy roles. Whilst in strategy, his team supported the creation and publication of NatWest Groups Climate Transition Plan, where he worked collaboratively with Exco and various teams across the bank to embed the Groups climate strategy.
The majority of Alex time in banking has been focused on supporting customers across multiple sectors, in particular, hospitality & leisure sector businesses. This led to his non-executive board appointment with the Scottish Tourism Alliance in 2022.
Alex is also a fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute.
