Charlie was born to a Scottish father and a Korean mother. He was educated at Eton College before graduating from the Courtauld Institute. In 2012, Charlie opened South Korea’s first dedicated fish & chip shop – the Battered Sole. After repatriating in 2015, Charlie divided his time between the family office, Dalness Partners, and his principal passion cooking. His focus at Dalness partners was Alternative Asset classes and EIS investments; his foray into gastronomy saw him graduate from the Cordon Bleu with distinction followed by stints at Marcus (2*), Portland (1*), Ikoyi (1*), and Contra (1*) in NYC. Charlie is a passionate advocate of eating well and is particularly fond of cheese.
