Ghillie Basan is a writer, broadcaster and food anthropologist. She has written more than 50 books on different culinary cultures and has many BBC and international radio credits as a presenter and contributor. She runs international Cookery Workshops and a Culinary Experience business, Spirit & Spice, hosting groups from all over the world to pair wild and local ingredients with whisky. She has been a winner of the Highlands and Islands Innovation in Tourism Award and it is her passion for food tourism that drives her to tell the stories of local food heroes and the amazing fresh produce to help put Scotland on the global culinary map.
