FutureChef Winner 2019
14 year-old Jessica Mitchell of the High School of Glasgow winner of the prestigious Springboard Future Chef competition beat beat 14,351 young people to win the title of FutureChef 2019 at the National Final in London’s West Minster Kingsway College.
Jessica first took part in the FutureChef 2018 competition reaching the Local final stages her experience in the competition made her even more determined to hone her skills and build on her cooking experience and re-enter the competition in 2019.
Thrilled about her success, Jessica said, “Before FutureChef, I had thought about becoming a chef but I thought it seemed a bit scary. Working with my mentor and having the chance to work in a professional kitchen has encouraged me to pursue it as a career”.
Sue Mitchell, Jessica’s mum, was overjoyed at her daughter’s success, saying “Chuffed! An experience you could never have bought, and it has definitely cemented her wish to work in the hospitality sector. I couldn’t be prouder!
