Tim Owen
Head Gardener - Abbotsford
Prior to working at Abbotsford, Tim was a horticultural lecturer at Borders College. Originally employed at Abbotsford as Ranger, he oversaw an extensive woodland management and path installation project. Tim was asked to supervise the garden volunteers and took over as Head Gardener in 2019. During the past two years Abbotsford has enhanced its walled gardens with new flower beds incorporating perennial planting along with many annuals grown from seed. The combination of planting from the emergence of spring bulbs to late flowering annuals and Dahlias, creates a succession of fragrance, colour and texture which has been adopted in creating a new mindfulness garden. Abbotsford’s walled gardens feature regularly in garden magazines and on TV.
