Scotland looking like a No 1 for live music in 2020

On top of the recent news that the SSE Hydro, Glasgow is the 2nd busiest arena in the world for live music in 2019, only 4 UK venues were in the top 100 “club venues” in the world and 3 of those are in Glasgow (who are the top 3 in the UK)!

The 02 Academy, Glasgow is the 14th busiest club venue in the world in terms of ticket sales; SWG3 is the 68th busiest and King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut (at 1/8th of the capacity of the 02 Academy) is ranked 70th in the world and 3rd in the UK! DF Concerts is very proud to be the main promoter of live music in terms of volume in all three of these wonderful venues.

Finally, DF Concerts are also delighted to be the 27th busiest concert promoter in the world and, once the top two international promoters are taken out of the rankings then we are the 3rd biggest UK only based concert promoter in terms of volume of ticket sales selling close to one million tickets in Scotland alone. The next busiest UK promoter comes in at #47 in the worldwide rankings.

2020 also looks like it will be a fantastic year for live music in Scotland – DF Concerts alone already have 10 outdoor concerts on sale (capacities ranging from 20,000 – 50,000) with another 18 outdoor concerts to be announced in the next few weeks (ranging from 4000 – 40,000 capacities). We are projecting to sell over 500,000 tickets for DF Concerts’ 28 outdoor shows alone this year plus we expect to have close to 1000 indoor shows promoted by DF Concerts taking place in 2020 across Scotland to add to this figure so we fully expect to comfortably break the 1 Million tickets barrier in 2020 – that’s equivalent to 20% of the population of Scotland all going to see a DF Concerts promoted live music show!
