Short, free online courses for tourism professionals at Napier University
To help the tourism sector respond to the impacts of the Covid-19 Coronavirus global pandemic crisis, upskill industry professionals in these times of dynamic change, and to assist with the restart and recovery of our industry Edinburgh Napier University is running two free online accredited three day short courses at the start of 2021 targeted at Scottish tourism professionals.
Applications are now open and places on the courses will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Destination Development & Leadership (January 2020)
During this short course, you will:
- Develop skills, knowledge and insights to enhance Destination Leadership and Development.
- Enhance individual, business, and destination leadership confidence and capabilities.
- Improve understanding of individual leadership behaviour through the creation and implementation of a Personal Action Plan.
- Share a common model for influencing and raising awareness about leadership choices.
- Create an understanding of strategic drivers of successful tourism destinations.
Sustainable & Innovative Tourism Business Management (February 2020)
This Short Course aims to:
- Create employer and employee awareness of skills and strategies appropriate to tourism business in times of social and economic change
- Develop individual competencies for tourism business competitiveness utilising sustainable best practice
- Provide understanding of the role of creativity and innovation for entrepreneurial actions that support the National Personal Framework (and many core UN SDGs)
- Enhance understanding of forward looking strategies and skill sets that support these in the wider tourism and business tourism environment
- Determine an understanding of contemporary communications and their role in enhancing partnership for goals and climate action in business
