CLOSED -STA Snapshot Survey: Impact of Energy Prices on Tourism Sector
Following the UK Government’s announcement that it will be introducing the Energy Bill Relief Scheme to fix wholesale gas and electricity prices for businesses for six months from 1 October 2022, the Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA) has launched a snapshot survey to gauge the impact of the scheme for tourism businesses here.
The survey is aimed at clearly demonstrating the need for the sector to continue to receive this support. Your input will help us best represent our industry in the coming months, as the current UK Government measures may not continue beyond March 2023.
The survey responses will evidence how tourism remains a ‘vulnerable sector’ as part of the UK Government’s review of the scheme (due to be published in just three months’ time), and also inform a STA Pre-Budget Submission ahead of the next full UK Government Budget.
It is essential that the UK Government hears the impact that energy prices and the rising cost of doing business is having on the tourism industry – threatening the sustainability of businesses, workforces, and wider communities. Thank you for taking the time to add your voice.
The survey has 10 questions. Please note that all survey responses are anonymous.
Complete the survey here.
The survey will close at 5pm on Thursday 6th October.
