Year of Coasts and Waters Micro Local Area Grants

As part of Scotland’s Year of Coasts & Waters, YouthLink Scotland has launched a new small grants programme that will support young people from across Scotland to get involved in the themed year.

The Scottish Government funded programme will make grants available to local groups and organisations offering informal learning opportunities for young people to explore the nature, history and culture of Scotland’s lochs, rivers, shorelines and waterways. A total of £45,000 is available. The closing date for applications is 1.00pm on Friday 14 February 2020

The fund will support community activity related to the four cross-cutting strands of Year of Coasts and Waters 2020:

• Our Natural Environment & Wildlife;
• Our Historic Environment & Cultural Heritage;
• Activities & Adventure;
• Food & Drink.

Applications must demonstrate how they contribute to the one or more of the programme outcomes:

• Communities are more aware of their existing assets (culture, heritage, landscape and waters, community based skills, cuisine etc.)
• Improved community integration and regeneration
• Enhanced visitor experience during YCW2020 and beyond
