STA Board and Council EU Exit meeting/update from the Cabinet Secretary
The STA will host a round table EU Exit discussion with the STA Board, STA Council and Scottish Government officials on Wednesday 2nd December. Following the discussion we will be joined by Cabinet Secretary Fergus Ewing, who will provide an update on the Tourism Task Force proposals that are to be discussed at the Scottish Cabinet on 1st December.
The following EU Exit questions have been posed for consideration in advance of the meeting.
- What are the key sectoral challenges likely to be caused by the end of the transition period? Are these additional to the ongoing challenges caused by Covid19?
- What planning has your organisation undertaken in preparation for the end of the EU transition period? What is your view of sectoral readiness for the end of the transition period?
- Do you feel there are gaps in sectoral knowledge of the potential impact of the end of the EU transition period? If so, what are they?
- What are your asks of Scottish Government in relation to the end of the EU transition period and beyond?
