Edinburgh’s oldest five-star walking tour business relaunches with a focus on wellbeing
Mercat Tours will relaunch in Edinburgh this weekend, (Friday, 30 April), after suspending its world-renowned tours at the start of November. The focus is on providing a five-star, safe and relaxed experience which is good for wellbeing and the city.
Kat Brogan, managing director of Mercat Tours and whose father, Des, established the company, has been leading her team through detailed relaunch plans: “As a family business, our first priority is to look after our visitors and our team – that’s the Mercat Deal.
“Our focus is on visitor’s wellbeing, quality experience and keeping our amazing city in top shape to benefit everyone. Our message is simple, choosing Mercat Tours is good for you, our team, our locals and good for Edinburgh.”
“With thanks to VisitScotland, the Old Town Community Council and Edinburgh World Heritage for supporting Mercat Tours. “We’re Good to Go” and cannot wait to start reconnecting people with the city, its stories and each other.”
Here’s how the Mercat Deal works;
- Storytelling is good for wellbeing – let your imagination soar!
- Walking is good for you and the environment – safe, healthy and low-impact
- Mercat’s ethical, Living Wage, family business is good for the team and community
Choosing a Mercat tour means supporting a responsible employer, rooted in the local community.
Tours will be operating Friday, Saturday and Sunday to begin with, and can be booked via the website. Numbers are restricted so it is advised to book with plenty of notice.
