Book your ticket to attend Scotland’s Cruise Conference 2019

The Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA) is working with CruiseForth to host Scotland’s Cruise Conference on the 20th November 2019 in Aberdeen.

The event which will take place at the Jury’s Inn Hotel, Guild Street in Aberdeen will provide information on practices introduced since the inaugural 2018 Conference (in Dundee) and bring together knowledge from those involved in bringing cruise ships to port, managing shore excursions, and providing local information to passengers and crew, with the objective of sharing ‘what works for tourism’.

Working under the umbrella of the STA and the National Tourism Strategy, the event will also look at how Scotland is marketed to the Cruise Lines, what Cruise Lines are looking for in adding a port to their itinerary, the importance of working with shore excursion companies, port agents and the port authorities, how businesses can become cruise friendly, and what cruise passengers are looking for in planning their visit.

Speakers this year include, Arnaldo Zanonato, Director of Regional Experiences Development for Silverseas Cruise Lines who will offer an awareness of what UK based, and international cruise lines are looking for.

The presentations will complement other input on Shore Excursion Development and Market Trends, as well as ongoing work to develop the cruise welcome around Scotland’s Ports.

Cruise Tourism in Scotland has grown rapidly in recent years and is projected to increase further, with larger ships, an increasing number of expeditionary style cruises, the search for new ports and destinations, and an increase in ‘cruise and stay’ visits.

This is a must attend for anyone working within Scotland’s cruise tourism sector.
