Citizens Rights Project is a not-for-profit organisation funded by the Scottish Government to raise awareness about the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS).

In March 2019 the British Government implemented a new immigration scheme for all EU/EEA/Swiss nationals and their family members living in the UK. All people concerned have until the end of June 2021 to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to obtain settled or pre-settled status in order to preserve their rights to live and work in the UK. 

We are concerned that there are still many EU nationals who are not aware about the new immigration system, and we would like to ask you to disseminate an urgent message to call for EU employees to proceed with their applications to the EU Settlement Scheme. If EU nationals do not apply to the EUSS they will lose their right to work in the UK. There is still huge uncertainty about the forthcoming immigration rules that will be implemented in 2021 for new people coming to the UK, therefore helping to secure the immigration status of current employees will ensure the continuity of our workforce. 

We have prepared information materials about the EU Settlement Scheme in various European languages that we would like to share with businesses. We provide FREE and REGULATED information and advice to all people who may need assistance with their application to the EUSS. We can organise a FREE online information session with employees and answer their questions. We also have a number of volunteers across Scotland who are accredited immigration advisers regulated by the Office for Immigration Commissioner (OISC Level 1 EUSS), who can meet employees and assist them with their applications free of charge.
